The British Monarchy has had many libraries across its turbulent history. War, religious controversy, and gambling debts saw books dispersed, and destroyed.
Shane Carmody will tell the story of some of the surviving books of early Royal libraries, leading to the present Library, established by William IV, in the private apartments in Windsor Castle. A sanctuary for the Queen and her guests, Shane will take you inside to learn something of its treasures.
This lecture is presented on-site at The Johnston Collection. Please see your ticket for details.
This lecture is supported by The Colin Holden Charitable Trust and The Friends of TJC
