A VISIT TO EMBROIDERY HOUSE | With a Guided Tour and Morning Tea

Tuesday 6 May 2025, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

The Friends will be visiting Embroidery House, the home of The Embroiderers Guild Victoria for a very special opportunity to view some of the rare pieces of embroidery in their collection.

The Embroiderers Guild welcomes all stitchers, those who want to be stitchers, and anyone wanting to create and learn about the art of traditional and contemporary embroidery and textile art. At Embroidery House, the Guild has a gallery with historic collections, a resource library, a space for the display of contemporary embroidery work, and friendly volunteers who provide assistance and advice.

The Friends will be given a guided tour of the facilities, with access to some of the precious historic artefacts in their collection, followed by morning tea. This will be a great opportunity to see similar pieces that were on display during The Johnston Collection’s INSPIRED BY WOMEN exhibition in Fairhall.

Join The Friends at Embroidery House, 170 Wattletree Road Malvern VIC 3144. with the tour commencing at 10:30 am.

At the conclusion of the guided tour, morning tea will be served and The Friends can enjoy further conversations about embroidery with members of the Embroiderers Guild Victoria.
