WHEN THIS YOU SEE REMEMBER ME with Sophia Errey

Wednesday 7 Jul 2021, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Gifts are an important part of social cohesion in the majority of world cultures. Their multiple meanings, especially as part of bonds of affection, memory and love will be explored, as will the ways in which collecting and gifts, and art and giftedness are intertwined.

SOPHIA ERREY is an artist, art educator and writer. She has lectured widely in the visual arts both historical and contemporary, and in her series Art, Craft, Decoration explored the area of collecting – the whys and the whats of the things we collect. Her most recent lecture at TJC was Picturing Interiors (2020).

This lecture is presented on-site at The Johnston Collection. Please see your ticket for details.
