THE UNRAVELLING OF THE HISTORY OF COMO GARDEN with Carmel McPhee

Monday 11 May 1998, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Recently as part of the restoration of Como, the vexing problem of the Garden at Como was addressed. Over the years the garden was changed, often decisions were motivated by the dictates of current fashion which resulted in, admittedly, a beautiful garden but one which has little resemblance to the original and certainly was not in accord with the recently adopted policy for Como.

Controversial decisions were made and much details research done. The detective work involved was specialist intriguing and creative. The results speak for themselves,

Carmel will explain how this occurred, How you could do it with your own garden. A lecture which should result in many rewarding but back-breaking hours in your own garden, will you survive.
