THE HUGUENOTS with Robert Nash

Friday 24 Oct 2008, 10:15 AM – 11:45 AM

Silversmith Paul de Lamerie, architect, furniture designer and engraver Daniel Marot and the founder of the Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory, Nicholas Sprimont, are just a few Huguenots associated with the decorative arts.

Robert Nash, an historian educated at Oxford and Cambridge and Secretary of the Huguenot Society of Australia, will explore the Huguenots within an historical context - who they were, why they were persecuted and their escape to other countries. On show will be pieces from The Johnston Collection that have a Huguenot connection.
