THE GARDEN OF IDEAS: AN INTRODUCTION with Richard Aitken

Wednesday 6 Jul 2011, 10:15 AM – 11:45 AM

The Garden of Ideas tells an inspiring and engaging story of Australian garden design beginning with the imaginings of emigrant garden-makers of the late-18th century.

Central to this is the transfer of ideas, principally from England and Europe, but also from Asia, The Cape, Rio, and North America.

Discover stories behind the works that comprise The Johnston Collection’s new exhibition, from early engravings and lithographs to mid-century books and photographs.
