STUDY DAY 2018 | PRIVATE COLLECTIONS : THE MICHAEL BUXTON COLLECTION | Past, Present and Future with Luisa Bosci

Luisa Bosci will discuss the genesis of the Michael Buxton Collection; its foundations, acquisition policy and what led it to becoming one of the best collections of Australian Contemporary art. This will be followed by an in-depth overview of the decision to donate the collection to the University of Melbourne and the birth of Buxton Contemporary.

LUISA BOSCI is the Director of the Michael Buxton Collection. Her role encompasses both curatorial work; as well as the recent delivery of Buxton Contemporary, a new purpose-built museum to house the Michael Buxton Collection. Bosci was Director of SPRING 1883 art fair from its inauguration to 2016. She has a Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Buxton Contemporary Committee of Management.
