Una Deerbon 1882-1972 Australian Potter is a recently published book by her grandsons Peter and Relton Leaver which tells the story of Deerbon’s contribution to the story of ceramics in mid-20th century Australia.  Her work in illustration and textiles in the 1920s was followed by a full time career in ceramics from the 1930s till the mid-1960s. Several examples of her work will be discussed and a small selection of her work will be displayed.

He studied a Diploma of Art & Design majoring in Ceramics at RMIT and trained as a Technical School Teacher.  He taught ceramics, ran a private ceramic school and a production studio.  He worked at The Meat Market Craft Centre, North Melbourne, for over ten years as Deputy Manager, Workshops & Programs Coordinator and Exhibitions Curator.
