William Johnston’s love of beautiful things and history, as well as his eye for the exotic, all come to life in this exhibition which explores his collection against the background of his life. Over his lifetime Johnston assembled the most astonishing collection, comprising of more than 1,400 objects of mostly 18th century English furniture, paintings, ceramics and objet d’art, now regarded as one of the best collections of its kind in Australasia.
