In this lecture, Dr Lisa Beaven, Lecturer, School of Visual Arts and Design, La Trobe University, will look at the social function of art, furnishings and furniture in palace interiors in Rome and at how the architecture of the formal apartments contributed to the elaborate etiquette required for visits.
