The State Library Victoria

The Guides at the State Library Victoria are going to take The Friends of The Johnston Collection on a tour, highlighting the History of the State Library Victoria.

During the tour, the spaces to be visited include the magnificent heritage reading rooms (La Trobe Reading Room and Redmond Barry Reading Room) where visitors can browse collections of books, magazines and music, the renowned galleries and The Ian Potter Queens Hall, and the new display of Ned Kelly’s armour, alongside his colourfully worded Jerilderie letter.

Discover the fascinating history of the State Library Victoria and explore some of the many iconic spaces with this one-hour tour hosted by the friendly and passionate volunteers of the State Library Victoria.

Join The Friends, meeting in the library at Hansen Hall, to be taken on this most interesting, escorted tour. On conclusion, take the time to enjoy an Autumn afternoon shopping in exciting Melbourne.
