PP MFF EVENT | Reactions and Reflections: An Afternoon with Richard Nylon

Saturday 2 Mar 2024, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

RICHARD NYLON is one of Australia's most talented milliners. His coveted, couture hairpieces have graced many fashionable heads during Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival, and his work features in the National Gallery of Victoria's collection. As a creative provocateur and style connoisseur,  Richard's innovative wearable works react and respond to objects and ideas from the past and present.

Richard will inject his own creative genius into The Johnston Collection, using the re-arrangement of Georgian, Regency and Louis XV fine and decorative arts by interior designer Vincent Jenden as his inspiration. Selected pieces by Richard will be positioned throughout the rooms of Fairhall,  The Johnston Collection's historic East Melbourne townhouse.

Guests will spend two hours with Richard for an elegant high tea and a walk and talk through Fairhall  (11am - 1pm or midday to 2pm). Guests will learn about Richard's unique way of seeing and experience his reactions to the spaces and objects as he discusses his works and creative practice. This intimate experience is limited to just 16 guests.

A selection of Richard's pieces will be on display at The Johnston Collection for tours booked between 2 - 9 March to coincide with PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
