LYON HOUSEMUSEUM GALLERIES | VISIT

Thursday 23 Jun 2022, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The Friends are visiting the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries, opened in March 2019 and offering a new platform for works of contemporary art, architecture and design. The public Housemuseum Galleries are a major expansion of the original Lyon Housemuseum.

The Housemuseum Galleries offer a series of contemporary spaces where national and international exhibitions of art, architecture and design are presented. The Galleries were designed by Corbett Lyon, and these Galleries include large, flexible exhibition spaces specifically designed for large scale artworks and installations. The central gallery space is surrounded by four peripheral galleries, each presenting a different character and aspect. A public forecourt and enclosed sculpture court extend the museum beyond its walls.

Join The Friends for a visit and tour of the current exhibition, presenting select works from the Lyon Collection by artists Marco FusinatoRosemary LaingLouise Forthun, Daniel Crooks plus some new acquisitions to the museum's permanent collection. Together these works showcase the fertile and energetic nature of contemporary Australian art.

The Friends visit to the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries include afternoon tea after the tour.
