Kay Craddock Antiquarian Bookseller | A Soirée

Thursday 3 Oct 2024, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Once the home of the Presbyterian Book Room, the Kay Craddock Antiquarian Bookseller Shop has an impressive but informal salon style and an open-door policy. Situated in the heart of Melbourne’s premier street, in a neo-Gothic building, the long-running Kay Craddock Antiquarian Bookseller Shop deals in antique, rare and second-hand books.

Kay Craddock and her parents, Leslie and Muriel Craddock, opened their first store, The Essendon Treasure Chest, in 1965. The business moved premises over the years, and they moved into the current premises in the Neo-Gothic Assembly Hall Building in 1990.

With amazing knowledge of antique books, Kay will present on her bookshop, her interest as co- founder and convenor of the Melbourne Rare Book Week, and her passion for antique books.

Join The Friends, at this rare book store in the centre of the City of Melbourne, for an opportunity to learn about antiquarian bookselling.

LOCATION: 156 Collins Street Melbourne VIC 3000
