ARCHITECTURAL TOUR & TALK | LYON HOUSEMUSEUM

Tuesday 19 Jun 2018, 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

The Friends are going to visit the Lyon Housemuseum in Kew. The original Housemuseum is a unique combination of private residence and private museum where 'museum' and 'living' are brought together in a single building. Understood to be the first purpose-built residence and museum, in 2010, Larry's List named the Lyon Housemuseum 'one of the world's 10 most exciting buildings of private museums'.

The Lyon Housemuseum is a unique combination of private residence and private museum brought together in a single building. The Housemuseum was designed by architect and collector Corbett Lyon, and exhibits works of contemporary art, architecture and design including selected works from the Lyon Collection which includes paintings, sculpture, video work and installations by many of Australia's leading contemporary artists. The Lyon Foundation is also creating some new gallery space so The Friends will also get a first-hand update on this construction.
