SPENDING TIME WITH JANE AUSTEN with LISE RODGERS

Wednesday 17 May 2023, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Jane Austen, one of the most adored authors of the nineteenth century, lived a simple, uneventful life. And with our recent experience of a “life in lockdown” for comparison, it’s fascinating to reflect on what it would have been like.

Thankfully she was a prolific letter writer - letters which are rich with information on her day-to-day life.

From gardening before breakfast to a last letter before bed, spend some time with Jane Austen to see the world behind her novels.

LISE RODGERS is an accomplished Melbourne actress whose career has spanned the stage, screen, and radio.

An interest in the world and characters of Jane Austen is the inspiration behind her Jane Austen by Lise Rodgers repertoire of performances.

This lecture is presented on-site at The Johnston Collection. Please see your ticket for details.

This lecture is supported with funds provided by The Colin Holden Charitable Trust.
