Nobody is better able to talk about Grand Department Stores. He created the facade of George’s for many years – those wonderful windows. Laurie started at Myer more years ago than a kind person would suggest. He went on to George’s, stayed, and at times was sent around the world looking at famous stores – the stuff of legends- Macy’s, Bergdorf Goodman and Harrods and absorbed the style and brought it home to Melbourne – to George’s. This is his life, as it were.
