In Jane Austen’s day eating was quite a different experience from what we know today. Meal times, the dining-table and even the dining room in middle and upper class homes would be quite strange to us.
The 18th century saw the beginnings of the Agrarian and Industrial Revolutions. What happened to second-hand tea leaves and how a syllabub was made are some of the questions which will be answered.
