The Committee of Friends of The Johnston Collection warmly welcome Members to The Friends 27th Annual General Meeting, and a special celebration at The Johnston Collection.
2026 is the 40th anniversary of the death of benefactor William Robert Johnston (1911-1986). Following the AGM, and to honour this very important time, Dr Louise Voll Box, CEO of The Johnston Collection, will share some historical background about Johnston and the impact of his generous bequest on the cultural vibrancy of Melbourne, past, present, and future. Photographs from The Johnston Collection archives will also be on display.
The Friends of The Johnston Collection was established in 1999. Since then, many Members and their friends have enjoyed Exclusive Preview Nights of the new exhibitions; educational lectures; guided tours through historic East Melbourne townhouse, Fairhall; and attended behind-the-scenes visits to museums, beautiful houses, special gardens and historic buildings. The Friends support The Johnston Collection, and their efforts play a large part in ensuring that William Johnston’s legacy continues today and into the future.
This Members Only event is free to attend, but bookings are essential.
The afternoon will commence with the 27th AGM. A very special Afternoon Tea will follow the presentation, Celebrating the Legacy of William Robert Johnston.
PLEASE NOTE: In line with the City of Melbourne Operating Permit, all attendees must arrive to The Johnston Collection via Courtesy Bus from The Pullman East Melbourne (departure at 1:50 pm).
