It is time for a very special, self-drive adventure with The Friends, to Arthurs Creek, where The Friends can enjoy the Annual Garden Walk, celebrating 35 years of Arthurs Creek sharing their gardens with the public. This community event is hosted by the historic Arthurs Creek Mechanics Institute Hall, which was built in 1887.
On arrival at Arthurs Creek, at 10:30 am, enjoy a tea or coffee as you collect your guide book and map at the Hall. After experiencing the delights of the first garden, the next stop is an exclusive lunch and wine tasting, scheduled for midday (12 noon), at Shaws Road Winery, (225 Shaws Rd, Arthurs Creek VIC 3099), in the heart of Arthurs Creek. There will be moments of true rapture at the amazing views of the surrounding hills, before you amble on throughout the rest of the afternoon, visiting the gardens listed in the guide book. Your journey home is at your leisure, at the conclusion of your “Arthurs Creek Garden Walk”.
Arthurs Creek is a small rural community, just 33 kilometres north-east of Melbourne's CBD and is located within the Green Wedge area of the Shire of Nillumbik. It is a part of the Diamond Valley and links to the Yarra Valley Wine Region. This year five (5) interesting broad acre gardens are open, with pottery, garden sculpture, cottage plants, and garden ornamentation stalls all complimenting the offerings available at the Hall.
