This event is currently at capacity. If you wish to be added to the waitlist, please email visitorservices@johnstoncollection.org or call The Johnston Collection on (03) 9416 2515 and we will contact you if places become available. Due to popular demand, we hope to plan another visit to this venue later in 2024.

Opened in 1884, the Supreme Court Library is an integral resource for the Victorian courts, as well as for the legal profession and the community. The Supreme Court library has well over 120,000 volumes, and is one of the largest law collections in the State. There are extensive series of law reports from all Australian jurisdictions, as well as from various other countries. There is also a large collection of statutory material, textbooks and periodicals. The oldest textbook is Statham's Abridgement, printed in 1490. In addition, the library has a collection of artworks and objects relating to the Supreme Court, judges, and the legal profession. It provides services that support the administration of justice in Victoria.

Join The Friends for an exclusive tour of this magnificent Library with a court Librarian. There are limited places available and the tour will last 45 minutes, to be followed by morning refreshments. Please be aware that everyone will need to go through security on arrival.
