Richard Runnels discusses life in India by tracing the characters found in the India Company Paintings in the Collection which Richard has researched on behalf of the Trustees.

Tales include visits to an Indian harem, a wild evening of native music and dancing, servants, tradesmen and nautch girls all seen through the eyes of the lovely 19th century English lady depicted in the paintings.
