GOVERNMENT HOUSE OPEN DAY 2020

To celebrate Australia Day, the Governor of Victoria invites you, the citizens of Victoria and visitors to the State to visit Government House, one of Australia's finest buildings, on Australia Day.

The Johnston Collection and Government House Victoria have had a shared history of working together for nearly two decades!  Since 1990, Government House has been using pieces from TJC's Collection to decorate the State Apartments, the Private Apartments and other public spaces. 

WHAT'S ON
Please come visit TJC's volunteers and explore the State Apartments, historic stables and mews, 11 hectares of gardens, and enjoy roving entertainers and range of activities for your kids.  You will be able to bring your own picnic to enjoy on the Western Lawn, or buy something from a range of food vendors on site.

ENTRY
Entry is free.
Gates open at 10.30am, and close at 4.30pm.  Self-guided tours will operate between 11.00am and 4.00pm.  You will need to pass through a security checkpoint and bag inspection at entry.

Check the Metro Tunnel website for transport disruptions as part of the tunnel works.
Public transport: You are encouraged to take public transport:
- Flinders Street Station is a 15 to 20-minute walk to Government House
- Take the St Kilda Rd/Coventry St tram - routes 3/3a, 5, 6,16, 64, 67 and 72 - and get off at the Grant Street - Police Memorial stop
Parking: Parking will not be available at the House. If you drive, there will be limited metered parking on Linlithgow and Birdwood avenues.
