Your ticket includes a lecture by our special guest Professor Tim Entwisle, and an afternoon tea of petit fours tea or Market Lane coffee, served on our delightful Wedgwood fine bone china.
A great botanic garden addresses the key threats of our time, such as climate change and plant extinction, while simultaneously serving up gorgeous landscapes and offering a balm to the weary human spirit. Professor Entwisle will outline why botanic gardens remain important today – perhaps more than ever – through his own personal journey in some of the world’s finest.
TIM ENTWISLE is an author, botanist, and broadcaster. He was Director of Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria 2013–2013, following two years in a senior role at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and eight as head of Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Tim is a regular contributor to Australian radio and magazines.
Copies of Tim’s book, Evergreen: The Botanical Life of a Plant Punk (Thames and Hudson, 2022) will be available for purchase at the event.
This special event is supported The Friends of TJC.
