AUTUMN COUNTRY GARDEN TOUR 2022 | Visit to Cruden Farm

Sunday 24 Apr 2022, 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Join The Friends on a self drive excursion to visit Dame Elisabeth Murdoch’s Cruden Farm, now one of Victoria’s most exciting green spaces.

In 1928, newspaper executive Keith Murdoch gave his bride, Elisabeth, a small farm as a wedding present and she loved the property at first sight. From the iconic image of the main driveway, planted with over 100 lemon scented gum trees, there are many garden areas to enjoy. The Picking Garden truly reflects the changing seasons, and The Walled Garden, originally designed by Edna Walling, has undergone many changes since it was first planted out in the early 1930s. There are other special areas to explore too, including the ‘outer garden’ and the plantation areas.

Cruden Farm is truly a very special place, left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for people to enjoy, and managed by a charitable trust.

Please note that Cruden Farm is a working farm and garden so no pets are allowed.

At the conclusion of the tour, The Friends will gather for Sunday lunch, to relax and reflect on the beauty of Cruden Farm.

Please note that this is an offsite event. Ticketholders will need to make their own way to Cruden Farm
