2026 Spring Country Garden Tour | Celebrating Harcourt

The 2026 Spring Country Garden Tour will be a self-drive adventure to a beautiful garden in Harcourt, a small and spirited rural community famed for apples, wine, cider and cycling. 80 minutes north of Melbourne, and 9km northeast of Castlemaine, Harcourt blends a proud heritage with a contemporary and cultured character.

Set in a valley at the foot of Mt Alexander, Harcourt, whose Post Office first opened on 27 February 1858, was named after Sir William Harcourt, a British lawyer, journalist and Member of Parliament. Once the premier apple growing region in Australia, and while still a major apple producer today, the local area is now known also for wine and cider production. Other interests include trout fishing, the extensive Mt Alexander Park walking tracks, and the home of Harcourt Granite Stone, widely used through Australia for soldier memorials, headstones and buildings of historical note.
