The Friends of The Johnston Collection have had a very full year, with lots of interesting and exciting activities for everyone to enjoy and now it is time for THE 20TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
It is our 20th Anniversary year and this will be the 20th Annual General Meeting. The Friends are very proud of our success over the years as we have been able to provide much financial support for the activities of The Johnston Collection. Our 20th Anniversary goal is to raise enough funds for the acquisition of a Bow Porcelain Works figure of Kitty Clive, England, circa 1750, to be a pair with the figure of Henry Woodward, which is already part of the Collection.
The current exhibition in Fairhall, “Janet Laurence: The Palm at the End of the Mind”, is being supported through the efforts of The Friends and this exhibition explores the collection alongside Janet's own creative practices, collecting and saving, nature and the environment, within the context of the Fairhall exhibition-house.
The AGM is the opportunity for The Friends to hear all above the successes of the past year and the exciting opportunities for the coming year. Refreshments will be served and there will be a very special guest speaker after the meeting.
